Be more for it!
Being against is easy. But what if we started asking ourselves what we actually stand for?
I am against exclusion and violence. I am against sexism, lobbyism, globalism, corporatism, capitalism, socialism, feudalism, patriarchy, matriarchy… and against hate.
Being against something is easy. Because before you can be against something, it has to already exist. It has to function and be attackable. What exists shapes arguments. Being against judges and evaluates… primarily others.
Being against requires little imagination or creativity. Being against requires no new paths. Being against is easy. Being against can unite… and far more often divide.
Being against wants to tear down, destroy, interrupt, disprove. Being against brings anger, frustration, and fear… into us.
But isn’t it also good to be against war, poverty, despair, murder, and manslaughter?
Doesn’t it somehow belong to the dualism of this world? If you’re not for something, you’re against it. If you’re not on the left, you’re on the right. If you’re not a follower, you’re a dissident. There is no middle ground, no balance beam.
But what would the balancing act into the unknown look like? Without fixed paths? What am I for, if I’m not against?
I am for us no longer letting ourselves be divided… into political camps, genders, generations, nationalities, cultures, skin colors, and faiths.
You are you and I am I.
I am for admitting mistakes and forgiving. I am for us facing our fears, dreams, and problems. I am for trauma healing, understanding, and inner growth.
I am for consuming less and being more. Being with ourselves. I am for community, awareness, and inner peace.
I am for using my daily energy and capacity constructively and creatively.
I am for individual integrity and sovereignty. Without exceptions — without selective application of this logic to genders, nationalities, professions, or cultures.
I am for every person being able to live according to their own vision, as long as they don’t demonstrably harm anyone else. I am for a society without systematic violence and coercion. I am for no person having the right to rule over another. I am for a decentralized, stateless social structure without central positions of power.
I am for more uncomfortable responsibility and less comfortable security. I am for taking new paths. If we fall, we fall forward and get back up. Step by step, with morality at our backs.
I am for disagreement and tolerance. For more moral action.
Be more for.
